Astronaut Christina Koch captured from ISS Philadelphia, U.S. July 4th was the Independence Day of the United States, and the founding fathers met in Philadelphia, debated, composed, and signed the documents that would become the blueprints of the American government, “the Declaration of Independence.”

In 1682, William Penn, an English Quaker, founded the city to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Today Philadelphia is the sixth-most populous city in the United States.
