Astronaut Andrew Morgan captured from ISS jettisoning debris shield to the space. The debris shield was too large to take inside so they chose to jettison it behind ISS where it’ll eventually disintegrate in the upper atmosphere.
On the 1st AMS repair spacewalk, @astro_luca & I removed a debris shield to access the work site. It was too big to take inside so the best option was to jettison it behind @Space_Station where it'll eventually disintegrate in the upper atmosphere. Something we rarely need to do! pic.twitter.com/fotzjzVgRQ
